The first IBL finals took place at the BNC Bratislava during the weekend 25. – 26.6. All 16 teams that advanced from the national groups came to participate on these finals. This year there were three states participating in the competition and these countries were the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia. The highest number of participations was from the Czech Republic, there were 11 teams, and also the two in the super-finals were from this country.
The playing system of the finals tested the physical and also the mental state of all players. Many matches were played so no one can complain about no chance to play. The playing system used on Sunday made the competition even more thrilling a every match of every single player was very important.
Two Czech teams – Draci Brno and OKO Křesťan – advanced to the super-finals. Draci Brno was the lucky team of these finals, because they nearly did not pass the previous groups. But in the super-finals they did good job without any doubt. The OKO Křesťan team played very well during the whole weekend but in the super-finals they were struggling.
The third place belongs to the representatives of Slovakia Vegas Bowling Košice and the fourth to the X-shop from the Czech Republic.
The first annual of IBL is now over and as we could have seen all participants enjoyed the final-weekend and they are looking forward to the next annual which starts in autumn. More information about the season 2011/2012 will be presented on this website.
